A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk emails, but this problem can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you’ve got a cloud hosting with us and you wish to enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally only one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all email messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be enabled without any difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domains hosted in your account will be listed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a mini button conveniently situated right next to each one of them. With only one mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature through the menu that will surface. In case any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will inform you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
